There is loads of tours available at any of the many tour stands available at any hotel or in most tourist areas. To start off, you may stay at one of the beaches, like Patong, Kata or Karon, these are not to far from Phuket Town, so one day you should spend checking out the old Phuket town, there is plenty of things to see in town. You have shops, sights, a blend of architecture, restaurants. If you're staying in Patong or not the nightlife in Patong is something one should not miss, so set away one or two nights to enjoy this quite amazing and maybe different nightlife than you might be used to. Keep an open mind and you will have a fun and satisfying experience. The nightlife in Paton Beach is something one should not miss when visiting Phuket. While in Patong, you should also visit the famous Simon Cabaret Show, one of the biggest transvestite cabaret shows in the area.

There is plenty of Temples around Phuket, but if you have limited time, make sure you pay a visit to Wat Chalong, one of the most important and most visited Temple in Phuket, it's quite a pleasant experience to visit this temple. And while in the Chalong area, you should not miss Big Buddha, overlooking a large part of Phuket, it's a nice ride up the mountain and you will enjoy great views on the way.

One should not leave Thailand without seeing a couple of matches of Thai Boxing (Muay Thai), there are regular events in Phuket Town, at Saphan Hin Stadium. Or if you are staying in Patong, you have a few places that arrange matches more or less daily.

If you have the chance to visit Phuket during one of the many festivals the island host, do not miss to take part in these, like Phuket Vegetarian Festival, Songkran Water Festival or Loy Kratong Festival.

One thing one should not miss is a visit to the many amazing viewpoints around the island, Promthep Cape is famous for it's spectacular sunsets, and there is plenty of viewpoints on the road from Patong Beach to Rawai Beach one should enjoy. As well as one on the way to the Aquarium in Panwa, from which you can see most of the eastern part of the island.

One show most people wont miss is Phuket FantaSea Show, it's one of those rare event's that will leave you with a very memorable experience. Just make sure to get good seating, it does make a difference.

One last thing you should not miss is to take a trip to the amazing Phang Nga Bay, there is plenty of tours that will take you there, if you don't feel like going on your own. If you go on your own, there is plenty of long tail boats that will take you on a tour around the bay, and a visit to the famous James Bond Island and Koh Panyee.
